Ahmet Olmuştur has been appointed the new CEO of Turkish Airlines, replacing the retiring Bilal Ekşi, who led the company for ten years. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the airline's press service.
"Due to the retirement of Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi, Ahmet Olmuştur, who previously served as Deputy CEO, has been appointed to this position," the statement read.
It was also announced that Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board of Directors, is retiring. He will be replaced by Murat Şeker.
Turkish Airlines operates scheduled flights to more than 355 cities worldwide. Its fleet consists of over 500 aircraft. By the end of 2024, the airline had served more than 92 million passengers. In March of this year, more than 7,2 million passengers flew with the company, a 16% increase compared to the same period last year.
