Trade turnover through the Turkmen-Uzbek border shopping center "Shabat" is growing

Trade volumes through the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade center "Shabat" are steadily increasing, according to the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

Between January and March, approximately 60 thousand Uzbek citizens made purchases there.

Over 1 700 tons of goods were exported from Turkmenistan. The most popular products were soft drinks, confectionery, fresh tomatoes, detergents, textiles, and other consumer goods.

At the same time, over 250 tons of products were imported from the Uzbek section of the trade center to Turkmenistan. The “Shabat” trade center primarily supplies Turkmenistan with household goods, dried fruits, and textiles produced in Uzbekistan.

As a reminder, the “Shabat” border trade center opened in November 2025. Trade transactions conducted through this center are exempt from all customs duties and other payments.
