“Altyn Asyr” footballers defeated “Ashgabat” FC 4-1 in a home match of the first round of the Turkmenistan Premier League. The match took place at “Altyn Asyr's” home arena in the Buzmeyin etrap of Ashgabat.

The winning team's goals were scored by Mekan Ashirov (18th minute, penalty), Rovshan Halmamedov (35), and Hoshgeldy Hojovov (90+3). “Ashgabat” defender Shatlyk Gurbanov also scored an own goal in the 31st minute. The losing team's consolation goal was scored in the 49th minute by Vahit Orazsahedov.

Orazsahedov scored against his former club, having transferred to “Ashgabat” from “Altyn Asyr” during the winter offseason.

Last season, “Altyn Asyr” finished third in the Turkmenistan Premier League. Ashgabat finished sixth.

In the next round, on April 11, “Altyn Asyr” will play “Kopetdag” away. On the same day, “Ashgabat” will host “Shagadam” from Turkmenbashy.
