The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, paying special attention to education issues, invariably emphasizes the importance of the quality of professional resources for the country in the context of modernization and innovative development.
The innovative development model chosen by Turkmenistan requires high professionalism from specialists in all sectors and the constant expansion of scientific potential, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Concrete steps in this direction included the opening of new universities, a consistent increase in the number of students enrolled in higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, the construction of schools and kindergartens throughout the country, and the computerization of the educational process.
The upcoming opening this year of the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the commissioning of a new additional educational building of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan are a clear example of this.
One of the significant changes was the increase in the number of new specialties, which facilitates a wide choice of future professions for applicants and a more flexible orientation of education to the demands of the labor market.
At the same time, great importance is attached to studying the best world experience, building up effective cooperation with foreign partners in the humanitarian sphere. And here the effective role of educational and scientific diplomacy, systematically promoted by the country, is obvious.
In recent years, cooperation with large foreign educational and scientific centers, authoritative international organizations, including specialized UN agencies - UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO, etc., with which joint projects are being implemented, has received new impetus for development.
The qualifications of teachers are improving, and international contacts between educational institutions of the country and abroad are expanding. Having established strong ties with prestigious centers of science and education in America, Europe and Asia, Turkmenistan has achieved a significant increase in its student contingent in these countries, expanded its participation in international research, inter-university exchanges and the development of academic information networks.
Earlier, we reported that thanks to the constant support of the state, schoolchildren and students of Turkmenistan won 748 medals in international subject and Internet Olympiads in the first half of the year.
