EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas announced the readiness of European and international financial institutions to invest more than 10 billion euros in the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
“The development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor is a major ongoing project. European and international financial institutions are ready to invest more than 10 billion euros in this project,” she said during a press conference dedicated to the 20th meeting of ministers of the European Union and Central Asian countries, which took place on March 27 in Ashgabat.
Kallas underlined the growing desire for cooperation between the EU and the Central Asian countries. She noted that the European Union is the largest investor in the region and plans to expand cooperation in various areas. Particular emphasis was placed on developing youth exchanges and strengthening contacts in the business and academic spheres.
