At the recent MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) ceremony, Taylor Swift once again confirmed her status as the queen of pop music. The singer won the main award in the “Video of the Year” category for the third time in a row for the video for the song Fortnight, recorded together with rapper Post Malone, TASS reports.
Swift's win marks her fifth in the category, an unprecedented achievement in the award's history. She previously won the award in 2015, 2019, 2022, and 2023. Taylor was also named “Female Artist of the Year”, further underlining her dominance in the music industry.
The ceremony, which was broadcast live on MTV, took place at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. Other winners of the night included Sabrina Carpenter, who won Song of the Year for her song “Espresso”, and Kaylee Rose Amstutz, aka Chappell Roan, who was named “Best New Artist”.
Established in 1984, the MTV VMAs remain one of the most prestigious awards in the music video industry. Winners receive the iconic astronaut statue with the MTV flag, which has become a symbol of creative success in the music industry.
