According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the creation of the E-Sports Center in the 2023-2024 academic year was another result of large-scale activities for the comprehensive development of sports in Turkmenistan and the training of talented Turkmen athletes.

The center is equipped with high-speed Internet, powerful computers, virtual reality devices and other necessary, state-of-the-art advanced equipment in accordance with high international standards.

The main objectives of the center are the development of all types of e-sports in Turkmenistan, the education of a young generation of e-sports athletes who can freely navigate the modern digital space, the unification of talented students through various competitions, their preparation and participation in international competitions, the formation of national teams in various types of e-sports, the development of interest in eSports and its popularization among Turkmen youth.

Currently, the E-Sports center has teams for Dota 2, Counter Strike 2, E-football, E-basketball and other types of e-sports. They participate in competitions at various levels and occupy leading positions in the rankings of the Asian region in Dota 2 and CS2.

The high level of training of the center’s athletes was demonstrated by very competitive cyber competitions in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, held in September last year among university students and then in an interuniversity format as part of the High Technology Week “Sustainable Economic Development: Innovation and Industrialization” in Turkmenistan, notes source.
