At the customs posts “Farap Avtoyollary” (Turkmenistan) and “Alat” (Uzbekistan), a joint practical training was held to develop a mechanism for exchanging preliminary information about cargo crossing the border, reports the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by members of the Port Control Groups of both customs posts, as well as a representative of the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. They tested in practice the exchange of pre-agreed data on incoming and outgoing cargo.
Successful group communication at the training was provided by the international trainer of the World Customs Organization Svetlana Savov. The purpose of the event was to work out a mechanism for exchanging information within the framework of the Protocol between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, in force since October 2021.
Expanding information interaction at the borders is one of the priorities of the customs services of both countries. This allows you to simplify and speed up customs procedures. Successful testing in practice of a new data exchange mechanism brings closer the introduction of this system into the permanent work of border control authorities.
