The Training Center of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has been awarded the status of a Regional Training Center of the World Customs Organization (WCO).
A memorandum on this was signed between Turkmenistan and the WCO on the sidelines of the 145th–146th sessions of the World Customs Organization Council, which took place fromJune 26 to 28 in Brussels.
As reported on the customs service website, this Memorandum consolidates agreements on the development of professional training, as well as on the expansion of international educational cooperation in the field of customs.
The training center will operate in accordance with international standards and WCO programs, providing training, retraining and advanced training for both specialists of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and customs authorities of other countries in the region.
The status of the Regional Training Center opens up wide opportunities for holding joint seminars, trainings, courses and research work with the participation of international experts, the source notes.
