Another batch of medicines for the treatment of non-communicable diseases has been delivered to Turkmenistan

The UN Development Program handed over another batch of medicines to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.

The supply of medicines was carried out within the framework of the project to combat non-communicable diseases, which is fully funded by the Government of Turkmenistan.

This time, drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular, neurological and respiratory diseases were supplied in the amount of 375,244.80 US dollars.

The batch of medicines includes:

  • Enoxaparin sodium (anticoagulant) – 25 000 pre-filled syringes;
  • Budesonide for inhalation – 5 000 vials;
  • Ipratropium bromide for inhalation – 10 000 bottles;
  • Salbutamol for inhalation – 120 000 bottles
  • Anticonvulsant drug Sodium Valproate – 121 410 tablets.

The supplied drugs will be distributed to all medical institutions in the country.

Projects to provide medicines for the treatment of non-communicable diseases have been implemented by the Government of Turkmenistan together with UNDP since 2021.
