The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting on the agro-industrial sector

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev and regional governors to discuss the development of the agricultural sector and the progress of work in the country's regions, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns. Currently, fields sown with wheat are being fertilized with mineral fertilizers and irrigated in accordance with agricultural standards. In preparation for the upcoming cotton sowing, work continues to level and plan agricultural land, and high-quality seeds are being prepared. Potato and vegetable and melon plantings have also been organized in the regions.

The President emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector as a key area for diversifying the national economy and ensuring food abundance in the country. The Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to continue developing the sector in line with the demands of the times, as well as to introduce digital technologies and best international practices into agricultural production.

Following the meeting, the head of state gave a number of instructions to the regional governors: to ensure timely preparation of fields for cotton sowing, to establish an uninterrupted supply of high-quality seeds to cotton growers, to ensure agricultural machinery is fully prepared for the spring campaign, and to plant potatoes, vegetables, and melons within the established agronomic deadlines.

The President demanded that special attention be paid to the irrigation of wheat crops and timely payments between producers and service organizations. Furthermore, Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed that the construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities in the country's regions be completed on time and with high quality.
