Over the first 11 months of this year, melon production in Turkmenistan's Lebap velayat increased by nearly 10 percent compared to the same period last year. Lebap farmers grew 183 thousand tons of melons, up more than 15 thousand tons from last year, according to the newspaper "Türkmen Gündogary."
There was also an increase of 6,1 percent (more than 250 million) in the purchase of eggs; 6 percent (about 50 thousand tons) in the processing of fruits and vegetables; 4,7 percent (more than 312 thousand tons) in the purchase of vegetables; and 2,2 percent (153 thousand tons) in the production of meat products.
Cotton fiber, apple, grape, meat, and milk production in the velayat also increased by 2,2 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Livestock production also saw growth. The camel population increased by almost 2 percent compared to the same period last year. Cattle numbers increased by more than 1300 heads, and poultry numbers by more than 5500.
