The first "Central Asia + Japan" summit at the heads of state level will be held in Tokyo on December 19-20, according to the press service of the Japanese Embassy in Turkmenistan.
According to the diplomatic mission, the summit will be attended by the presidents of five Central Asian states – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will chair the summit.
The summit is expected to allow Japan and the Central Asian countries to reaffirm their continued cooperation and strengthen mutually beneficial relations.
Within the framework of the summit, a "Central Asia + Japan" business forum is planned under the auspices of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.
In addition, Prime Minister Takaichi intends to hold bilateral meetings with the presidents of Central Asian countries, during which they plan to discuss issues of further strengthening bilateral relations and current international issues.
