The Turkmenistan weightlifting team won eight gold and four bronze medals at the 6th INTERNATIONAL FAJR CUP, which is taking place from November 26 to 30 in Tehran. The Weightlifting Federation of Turkmenistan reported this to Turkmenportal.
The competition is attended by 37 athletes from eight countries: Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Turkmen weightlifters Seyitjan Mirzayev (up to 60 kg) and Bunyad Rashidov (up to 71 kg) achieved the greatest success, winning three gold medals each – in the snatch, clean and jerk, and combined total. Mirzayev lifted 124 kg in the snatch, 150 kg in the clean and jerk, and 274 kg in the combined total. Rashidov lifted 150 kg in the snatch and 165 kg in the clean and jerk, for a total of 315 kg.

Gaygysyz Toryaev (up to 79 kg) won two gold medals – in the clean and jerk (187 kg) and the combined total (332 kg), as well as bronze in the snatch (145 kg).
Ramazan Toryaev (up to 88 kg) also won bronze in the clean and jerk (176 kg) and the combined total (316 kg), and Galkan Rakhmanov (up to 88 kg) in the snatch (145 kg).
Turkmenistan is represented at the tournament by seven athletes. Rustem Annaberdyev (up to 94 kg) and Davranbek Hasanbayev (up to 110 kg) will compete on November 28. Aman Meredov represents Turkmenistan on the judging panel.
