The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan is opening admission to higher education institutions in the People's Republic of China and Hungary for the 2026/2027 academic year. Applications will be accepted from December 1 to 15, 2025, at the International University for the Humanities and Development, according to the Turkmenistan newspaper.
Admission to Chinese Universities
Citizens of Turkmenistan with a general secondary education, English proficiency, and aged 18 to 25 years old can apply to study at Chinese universities for a bachelor's degree program.
In addition to the standard application package, which includes an educational certificate, a medical certificate, a reference, and photographs, applicants must also provide SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, or HSK international exam results, as well as CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment) results. Applicants must also submit a statement confirming that they have not previously received a scholarship from the Chinese government.
Admission to Hungarian Universities
Applications for study at Hungarian universities are accepted from high school graduates of the 2025-2026 academic year who will turn 18 by August 31, 2026.
Hungarian universities require one of the following international exams for admission: SAT, TOEFL, or IELTS. Unlike China, the CSCA exam is not required, but a birth certificate and proof of permanent residence are required.
General Conditions
Applicants for both countries will be selected competitively based on the results of academic assessment examinations. Winners of national Olympiads and members of the Turkmenistan national team at international Olympiads in general education subjects will receive preferential admissions.
