The press service of the Kyrgyz football club “Kyrgyzaltyn” congratulated its forward Meylis Diniev on his first goal for the Turkmenistan national team, scored in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifying match against Chinese Taipei.
The 25-year-old forward came on as a substitute in the 70th minute of the match and opened his account for the national team nine minutes later. In the 79th minute, Diniev scored from a pass by Teymur Charyev, making the final score 3-1 in Turkmenistan's favor.

"Congratulations to Meylis Diniev on his call-up to the Turkmenistan national team! He strengthened the team's play and scored a goal in the match against Chinese Taipei. Turkmenistan won the match 3-1. We are proud of Meylis and wish him continued success both at the club and on the international stage! Alga, champion!" the club's official statement read.
Turkmenistan national team head coach Rovshan Meredov also praised Diniev's performance. "Diniev came on, did what he had to do, and strengthened the team," the coach said at the post-match press conference.

With their victory over Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan retained their lead in group D of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying tournament with 12 points, ahead of Thailand on tiebreakers. The decisive match between these teams will take place on March 31, 2026, in Thailand.
