Turkish Airlines received three prestigious awards at the Airline Economics Aviation 100 European & Sustainability Awards ceremony held in London. The Turkish national carrier was recognized in the categories of "Financing of the Year (Europe)," "Secured Financing of the Year (Europe)," and "Sustainable Aviation Financing of the Year."
The airline won the Financing of the Year (Europe) award for its Swiss franc Islamic finance lease from Dubai Islamic Bank for one Airbus A350 aircraft.
In the "Guaranteed Financing of the Year (Europe)" category, Turkish Airlines received recognition for its use of the JOLCO structure with a Balthazar guarantee in Japanese yen for two Airbus A350s, financed by the Natixis & ORIX consortium. This transaction underscored the carrier's growing position in the Japanese financial market, where it has been active since 2007.
The third award, Sustainable Aviation Financing of the Year, was given to a project involving Societe Generale, which involved financing two Airbus A321 Neos under the JOLCO sustainable financing scheme, using euros and Japanese yen.
Experts note that these awards confirm Turkish Airlines' strategy of introducing innovative financial instruments, expanding its network of international partners, and effectively managing its balance sheet.
