At the end of August, the XVIII International Youth Football Tournament in memory of the Honored Coach of the USSR Yuri Morozov will take place in St. Petersburg, with the participation of teams born in 2010.
According to the organizers, eight teams will take part in the competition: the clubs “Zenit” (Russia), “Crvena Zvezda” (Serbia), “Kairat” (Kazakhstan), “Fenerbahce” (Türkiye), “Fluminense” (Brazil), as well as the youth teams of Russia, Belarus and Turkmenistan.
The Yuri Morozov Memorial Tournament has been held since 2007 and is one of the most prestigious international competitions among youth teams. Under Morozov's leadership, “Zenit” won a USSR championship medal in 1980 for the first time in history – bronze. The famous football player and coach passed away in 2005 at the age of 70.
