Texas resident Alice Ogletree has set a new world record for the amount of breast milk donated. Her contribution to saving the lives of premature babies was appreciated by the Guinness Book of Records, MIR 24 reports.
The 36-year-old woman donated 2 645 liters of breast milk, which is more than double her previous record.
Alice’s charity story began in 2010, when she became a mother for the first time. Then she noticed that she had increased lactation, which continued during subsequent pregnancies.
According to the calculations of the North Texas Milk Bank, thanks to Alice, more than 300 thousand premature babies received proper nutrition. The woman hopes that her example will inspire other mothers and draw public attention to the problems of breastfeeding and milk donation.
