The analytical company Counterpoint Research presented a report on the most popular budget smartphones for the second quarter of 2024, demonstrating significant market growth in the segment of devices priced up to 150 USD, gazeta.ru reports.
According to the study, budget smartphones account for an impressive 37% of global sales. Experts attribute this trend to the active introduction of flagship features into affordable models, which makes them more attractive to a wider range of consumers.
Total smartphone sales in Q2 2024 exceeded 100 million units, up 10% year-on-year, with sales of the most popular budget models showing even more impressive growth, up 21% year-on-year.
The Redmi 13C 4G topped the list with 4,1% of the market, followed by the Samsung Galaxy A05 with 4% and the Galaxy A15 4G with 3,3%. The fourth and fifth places were shared by the 5G version of the Redmi 13C and the Redmi A3, each with a 2,4% share.
The top 10 also included the Samsung Galaxy A05s (2,3%), Tecno Spark Go 2024 4G (1,7%), and three models from Oppo: A18 (1,5%), A58 4G (1,4%), and A38 (1,4%).
