US Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Klimow, at a conference for English language teachers organized at the International University of Humanities and Development in Ashgabat, shared plans for cooperation between the countries in 2024, writes CentralAsia.news.

According to the diplomat, this conference was one of the first opportunities to bring together 250 English teachers from all over Turkmenistan.

As Matthew Klimow noted, English unites the world and is spoken by more people than any other. Therefore, promoting quality English education will help Turkmenistan expand trade and interaction with the United States and other countries, and become an important player on the world stage in the future.

Speaking about plans for cultural and humanitarian cooperation in 2024, the ambassador noted a busy schedule of events not only in the field of education, but also culture. The US Embassy will continue to work with cultural heritage sites in Turkmenistan, which are more numerous than in any other country.

Particular attention will be paid to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi. The US Embassy plans to actively participate in the anniversary celebrations, celebrating the poet’s creativity and role in uniting the nation. American experts will also be invited to talk about the influence of Magtymguly’s poetry on culture and his spiritual heritage.
