1. Today in the city of Arkadag the film festival “Dawn of Arkadag” opens with the participation of Central Asian states.

4. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan organized a gala reception in the city of Astana in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan. The event featured a rich festive program: a video presentation, an exhibition of carpets, treats of Turkmen national cuisine, as well as a concert with the performance of the traditional dance “Kushtdepdi”.

5. In January-August 2023, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan will almost triple their trade turnover compared to the same period last year. In just 8 months of this year, mutual trade turnover between the countries reached 645 million USD. The head of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor also emphasized the importance of the Memorandum on joint exploration, development and development of the “Dostluk” hydrocarbon field in the Caspian Sea signed in 2021.

7. The chairmanship of the CIS will be transferred to the Russian Federation from Kyrgyzstan from January 1, 2024. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will become co-chairs of Russia. This was stated by CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev at an expanded meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth in Bishkek.

8. Chess player from Turkmenistan, international master Saparmurat Atabayev, won a landslide victory at the tournament, held from October 5 to 11 in the Iranian city of Ahwaz. Having scored 7,5 points out of 9 possible, Saparmurat was 2 points ahead of his closest pursuer, the Iranian grandmaster. Saparmurat also managed to fulfill the second norm of an international grandmaster. Thanks to his successful performances, he moved to first place among Turkmen chess players in the FIDE rating.

9. The national football team of Turkmenistan continues its training camp in Dubai (UAE). The collection began on October 8 and will last until October 18. After defeating “Dubai United” with a score of 3:1, the Turkmenistan national team continued daily training. Training twice a day includes physical and tactical training.
