In Turkmenistan, in the new city of Arkadag, which was opened on June 29, electric transport began to run. The city uses 10 electric vehicles and 10 electric buses.
Nazar Atayev, head of the operation department of the Arkadag bus station and auto complex department of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, told CentralAsia.news about the technical characteristics of transport.
JAC J7 electric cars and Chinese-made Yutong electric buses were presented to the city by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. They operate on electric power and do not produce harmful emissions.
To charge electric vehicles and electric buses, 5 filling stations have been installed in the city. Each station can charge two electric vehicles at the same time. The charging time for an electric car is 48 minutes, and for an electric bus 90 minutes.
A full charge of an electric car is enough for 400 kilometers, and an electric bus for 320-350 kilometers.
