Due to the rich harvest of vegetables in Lebap velayat this summer, retail prices for fruits and vegetables in the region have decreased. This was reported in the local newspaper Türkmen gündogary (“Eastern Turkmenistan”).
In particular, compared with the previous month, the cost of tomatoes decreased by 21,48%, cucumbers - by 9,93%, onions - by 9,75%, beets - by 9,23%, cabbage - by 7.94%, potatoes - by 2,13%.
As the source notes, for 7 months of this year, the region's farmers produced 76,5 thousand tons of vegetables, 50,2 thousand tons of melons, 28,9 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables, 95,7 thousand tons of potatoes.
These figures are significantly higher than for the corresponding period last year.
As a result of a good harvest, the supply of agricultural products to shopping centers and markets has significantly improved.
In addition, prices also decreased for buckwheat - by 6,02%, premium wheat flour - by 4,64%.
