Within the framework of the first summit of the presidents of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye, held yesterday at the “Avaza” NTZ, a large-scale exhibition was organized, which was attended by numerous guests. Among the guests of honor of the exhibition were the spouses of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the leaders of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

A rich exposition introduced visitors to the works of Turkmen arts and crafts, including the unique carpets of Turkmen craftswomen, embroidered products, jewelry for women. The performances of folklore groups gave the event a special festiveness, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Visitors to the exhibition were able to observe the work of carpet weavers and embroiderers. One of the carpet weavers suggested that the guests complete the work on the finished carpet by cutting off the last knots. Turkmen carpets traditionally have from 350000 to 1000000 knots per square meter, due to which they have a dense and at the same time thin texture. Among the exhibits was a unique carpet woven from pure wool and having 1355000 knots per square meter.

Then the guests got acquainted with the national clothes, made in a modern style. At the same time, they were able to see elements of a real wedding ceremony.

The guests noted the importance of national values and good customs, originating from ancient times.

Let us remind that the traditional Turkmen carpet weaving and the art of Turkmen embroidery are included in the UNESCO list of intangible heritage.
