An 8-day training on familiarization with UN structures was held for civil servants and young diplomats of Turkmenistan.
As per the edition “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age”, the purpose of the training was to give an idea of how the UN approaches various issues, in particular, negotiations and mediation, analytical work and development issues, as well as documentation.
The participants were introduced to the basic concepts of preventive diplomacy, conflict resolution and peacemaking in the international context; analysis of the situation and assessment of the conflict, features of diplomatic etiquette, protocol.
Representatives of UN Agencies in Turkmenistan held thematic sessions on Sustainable Development Goals, human rights, and economic analysis.
The training was organized by the Department of Political Affairs and Peace-building Issues jointly with the Office of the UN Permanent Coordinator in Turkmenistan with the support of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (RCPDCA).
