The new Kerki airport has completed concreting the runway and taxiway, according to Jeyhun News.

The length of the runway at Kerki airport is 2700 seven hundred meters, and the width is 60 meters. The runway will be equipped with modern ground-based flight support facilities for the first category of ICAO-lighting, meteorological, air navigation and radio equipment from Thales, which will allow receiving and sending Boeing 737 next Generation aircraft.

According to the contract signed between the Agency "Turkmenhovayollary" and the contractor – IE "Gundogdy", the airport is being built along the Turkmenabat–Kerki highway and the city railway station.

On the territory of 200 hectares will be located the complex of modern air Harbor: in addition to the runway will be erected 4 helipads, passenger terminal area of over 1700 square meters, center air traffic control height of 30 meters, technical and support services, network engineering, communications, maintenance, fueling service, storage space, fire station, service branch loads.

The builders will create optimal comfortable conditions for waiting, quick check-in and boarding passengers at Kerki airport. They can use a waiting room with 120 seats, ticket offices, medical center, Luggage storage, mail kiosk, international communication point, cafeteria, CIP-hall, mother and child room, dining room with 30 seats.

Kerki airport will be the fourth infrastructure facility built within the framework of the national program for the development of civil aviation of Turkmenistan for 2012-2030, in accordance with which new terminals are being built, and existing specialized facilities and services are being reconstructed.

Commissioning of the new civil aviation facility is scheduled for April 2021.
