The State Museum of Turkmenistan displays valuables donated by private individuals

A thematic exhibition titled "Examples of National Heritage" has been organized at the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan. The event highlights the expansion of the museum’s collections through items donated by private individuals.

The exhibition features household items, clothing, and jewelry from the late XIX and early XX centuries, as well as various types of ceramics, carpets, weaving tools, and leather goods—all donated to the museum by Maya Berdyklycheva, a resident of the Vekilbazar etrap in the Mary velayat.

Also on display here are an “agar-chakmen” woven from camel hair, donated by entrepreneur Aknabat Tovyyeva, a resident of the Murgap etrap in the Mary velayat; and traditional Turkmen women’s clothing, donated to the museum by Tyazegul Sopi-gyzy Amanlyyeva, a resident of Ashgabat.

The exhibition was opened with welcoming remarks by the museum director, Meretgeldy Charyyev. Presentations were delivered by: Maya Berdyklycheva, a resident of the Mary Province; Ayna Durdylyeva, founder and director of the private enterprise “Mähirli Zenan”; Yazgul Annayeva, an editor at the magazine “Zenan Kalby”; Akjagul Bayramova, a specialist at the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets; and Govher Hydyrova, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

For her significant contribution to enriching the museum’s ethnographic collections, donor Maya Berdyklycheva was awarded a certificate of honor and a commemorative gift.
