In Geneva, the renovated Turkmen Hall at the Palace of Nations was unveiled following modernization

The renovated Turkmen Hall was unveiled at the Palais des Nations within the framework of an Open Day event for Building “C”. This was announced by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN in Geneva.

The event was organized as part of the UN’s “Strategic Heritage Plan” (SHP). Participants in the presentation included Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva; diplomats from the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan; heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva; as well as international experts.

The Turkmen Hall is part of the original 1930s structure of the Palace of Nations, which was built for the League of Nations. In 2014, the government of Turkmenistan funded the hall’s first major restoration; the project included the refurbishment of the original furniture, the installation of modern audiovisual equipment, and the addition of traditional, hand-woven Turkmen carpets, which now serve as the interior’s primary decorative feature.

Within the framework of the SHP project, the hall underwent a high-tech modernization while fully preserving its historical decor.

On the same day, the Council Chamber, the French, Russian, and Czech-Slovak Rooms, as well as the Conference Documentation Centre and the art collection of the Palais des Nations, were opened to guests.

The mission noted that the Turkmen Hall remains an important venue for high-level meetings, international negotiations, and mediation. According to them, it serves as a symbol of the strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, as well as the contribution of Turkmen culture to world heritage.
