British automaker Bentley has announced its first production electric vehicle, the Torcal SUV. Prices for the model in the UK start at 173 thousand pounds sterling (approximately 230 thousand USD).

The new model will be available in two versions: the base Torcal and the sporty Torcal S. Both trim levels feature a powertrain consisting of two synchronous electric motors.

The base version produces 821 hp and 1,194 Nm of torque, accelerating to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. The sporty Torcal S variant features a more powerful powertrain—delivering 888 hp and 1,350 Nm—enabling it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 260 km/h.

Both versions are equipped with a 113 kWh battery with an 800 V operating voltage, providing a range of up to 600 km on a full charge.

A distinctive feature of the crossovers is their sound simulation system: the electric vehicles use cabin speakers to reproduce the engine sound of Bentley’s gasoline models. According to the company, this feature is included "not only for the sake of image but also for safety reasons."

Orders for the Bentley Torcal will open in late September 2026. Deliveries of the first electric vehicles to customers are scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
