Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people, stated at a meeting of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of Turkmenistan that the country has achieved great success during the years of independence and has become one of the most prestigious and powerful states in the world. "The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that great successes have been achieved during the years of independence and that Turkmenistan has become one of the most prestigious and powerful states in the world," the statement says.

As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, over the past historic period, Turkmenistan has achieved significant results in the political, diplomatic, socio-economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres and is confidently continuing its rapid development in the era of the "Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State."

The National Leader emphasized that, in keeping with established tradition, the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty is being held during the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the country's independence. He expressed confidence that Independence Day would further strengthen the Turkmen people's national pride in their homeland and imbue the country with renewed vigor to achieve success.

The agenda of the meeting of Turkmenistan’s supreme representative body of authority includes issues aimed at ensuring a prosperous and thriving life for the people, as well as the country’s continued socio-economic development.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers; deputies of the Mejlis; heads of ministries, agencies, political parties, public organizations, and mass media; governors (hakims) of provinces, districts, and cities; members of the People's Councils (Halk Maslahaty) of provinces, districts, and cities; as well as honorary elders, representatives of the public, and youth.
