President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Russian leader Vladimir Putin discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and issues regarding inter-parliamentary interaction between the two countries during a telephone conversation. This was reported by TDH.

The Russian leader congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wishing him good health, well-being, and success in his state activities. Vladimir Putin also noted the contribution made by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to strengthening Turkmen-Russian relations and conveyed warm greetings to him.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked Putin for the congratulations and, in turn, congratulated him on the recent State Duma elections. The President of Turkmenistan noted the high level of organization of the vote and wished the new Russian parliament a productive term. He also expressed confidence in the continued development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

During the conversation, the parties emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Russia based on the principles of mutual trust and respect.
