Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan in the near future. This was announced by the Armenian Ambassador to Ashgabat, Arsen Avagyan, at a reception marking the 35th anniversary of the republic's independence.

According to him, the visit will create additional opportunities for continuing the political dialogue and developing practical cooperation between the two countries.

A return visit to Yerevan by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is also expected; it will coincide with the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be held in Armenia in 2026.

The diplomat noted that recent years have seen a marked intensification of the Armenian-Turkmen political dialogue. He cited the three visits to Turkmenistan by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan—in October 2024, August 2025, and December 2025—as clear evidence of this. During a working visit in December, Khachaturyan met with Serdar Berdimuhamedov; the parties discussed the further development of political, economic, educational, and cultural cooperation, as well as issues regarding the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, the expansion of collaboration in the energy and communications sectors, and infrastructure development.

A reception marking the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia was held at the “Yyldyz” hotel in Ashgabat. The event was attended by Guvanch Agajanov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan; representatives of the diplomatic corps and the academic, public, and business communities; as well as Armenian compatriots residing in Turkmenistan.
