The Turkmenistan national team won four medals at the 2026 Sambo World Cup, held on September 19–20 in the capital of Tajikistan.

The tournament, which became one of the key events on the 2026 international sambo calendar, brought together national teams from Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Honduras, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and a number of other countries. The competition featured three disciplines—sport sambo, combat sambo, and sambo for visually impaired athletes—for both men and women. This marks the second consecutive Sambo World Cup hosted by Dushanbe.

On the first day of the tournament, Sapar Dovletov distinguished himself by winning bronze in the up to 71 kg weight category in sports sambo.

On the second day, Turkmen athletes added three more medals to the national team's tally. In combat sambo, bronze medals were won by Abdylla Nazargeldiyev (under 88 kg) and Malikberdy Begiyev (over 98 kg). Meanwhile, Ykbal Saparova secured gold for the team by winning the women's sport sambo event in the under-50 kg weight category.

Thus, the Turkmenistan national team finished the tournament with one gold and three bronze medals.
