Turkmenistan and JATA discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Japan, A. Bayramov, met yesterday with the newly elected Chairman of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), Yuri Hara, according to the Embassy's website.

The parties discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in the field of tourism, which began with Turkmenistan's participation in the international tourism exhibition JATA Travel Showcase 2013.

It was noted that cooperation has been steadily developing in recent years. The conference "Turkmenistan's Tourism Potential" in Tokyo in 2014 and the international conference "Turkmenistan: A Country of Friendship, Brotherhood, and Hospitality," organized as part of EXPO 2025 in Osaka in 2025, were cited as successful examples of bilateral collaboration.

Particular attention was paid to promoting the establishment of direct flights between the two countries, as well as expanding cooperation between relevant government agencies and tourism companies of Turkmenistan and Japan, the source notes.
