Torrential rains and related accidents in Pakistan have victims of 45 people since the start of the monsoon season on June 26, the country's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Sunday.
The death toll has increased by seven people over the past two days. At the same time, the number of injured people has increased to 68 people - six more residents were injured as a result of the natural disaster.
Torrential rains have hit almost all provinces of Pakistan, posing a threat to the lives and health of the local population. Authorities are recording cases of building collapses, landslides and other dangerous phenomena associated with heavy rainfall.
The NDMA has issued an emergency warning that further waves of intense rainfall and thunderstorms will hit large parts of the country in the next 12-24 hours. Residents are advised to take precautions and monitor weather reports.
Pakistan's monsoon season traditionally lasts from June to September and annually causes significant damage to the country's infrastructure and loss of life.
