At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian automaker AvtoVAZ presented the Lada Azimut, the first crossover developed entirely by the company. The new model is built on the Lada Vesta platform, and serial production is scheduled to begin in 2026.
The presentation of the Lada Azimut became the central event of the AvtoVAZ automobile exposition at the forum. The new crossover is positioned as a response to the growing demand for compact SUVs of Russian production, combining affordability, reliability and modern design.
In addition, on June 18, a special version of the Lada Aura sedan, adapted for use as a taxi, was shown at the forum. The car is made in white and yellow colors with traditional "checkers". Let us remind that retail sales of the Lada Aura started on November 30, 2024.
AvtoVAZ also announced the imminent release of the new Lada Iskra model — it will hit the market in July, on the company's birthday. In the "Grapes" theme zone, forum guests will be able to see sports versions of the models: the rally-raid SUV NIVA Sport T2 and the racing modification Iskra.
The new line of cars demonstrates AvtoVAZ’s desire to strengthen its position in the domestic market and compete in key segments – from budget models to sports and service solutions.
