Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkap Hojagulyev sent a congratulatory message to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in connection with the celebration of Gurban bayramy, which is celebrated this year from June 6 to 8, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
In his congratulatory message, the mufti noted that Gurban bayramy symbolizes “humanism, mercy and spiritual purity.” “On behalf of all believers in the country, we heartily congratulate you on this sacred holiday,” the message says.
Hojagulyev emphasized the special significance of the holiday for the Turkmen people, noting that its celebration "reflects the spiritual values, national beliefs and rituals passed down from generation to generation." According to the mufti, the Turkmen people highly revere this sacred holiday.
The message also notes that as part of the celebration, traditional events are held in all regions of the country - festive dishes are prepared, gurbanlyk-sadaka (sacrifices) are given, during which prayers are offered for the well-being of the country and the people.
The Mufti expressed his wishes to the President for further success in domestic and foreign policy aimed at the prosperity of neutral Turkmenistan and strengthening peace throughout the world.
