1. The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a meeting of the State Security Council, which reviewed the results of the work of military and law enforcement agencies in January. The head of state noted the importance of modernizing the material and technical base of the country's Armed Forces, increasing the professionalism of military personnel and educating young people in the spirit of boundless love for the Fatherland.
2. National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Akihisa Nagashima, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit. During the meeting, the parties discussed the positive dynamics of Turkmen-Japanese relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, social, cultural-humanitarian fields. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the Japanese side to take part in a high-level international forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, which will be held in Ashgabat in December this year.
3. Within the framework of the visit, Nagashima also met with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The head of state confirmed his readiness to further develop Turkmen-Japanese cooperation. In turn, the special adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan expressed hope for the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the work of the World Exhibition EXPO 2025 in April this year in Osaka.
4. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution, according to which the Ministry of Adalat is allowed to design the administrative building of the Adalat bodies in Turkmenbashi and Dashoguz. The document stipulates that construction work should begin in February 2025 and the administrative buildings will be ready for use in January 2027.
5. The sixth meeting of special representatives for Afghanistan in the “Central Asia – European Union” format took place in Dushanbe. The Turkmen delegation at the meeting was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov.During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on priority issues of regional security and development, as well as problems related to the socio-economic situation in Afghanistan.

6. Passenger transportation on hydrogen air vehicles may begin in Kazakhstan in the first half of 2026. This was stated by Transport Minister Marat Karabaev during a press conference. The first route of flying transport will connect Almaty and the city of Alatau.According to the minister, aeromobiles are compact aircraft powered by hydrogen fuel, capable of carrying up to five passengers. The technology is being actively developed by companies from South Korea and the USA, and now Kazakh business has shown interest in the development of this area.
7. Scientists from the New Mexico University of Health Sciences have found that the concentration of microplastics in human brain tissue has increased one and a half times over the past eight years. Of particular concern is the fact that patients with dementia had levels of plastic particles that were ten times higher than normal. Within the framework of the study, scientists analyzed tissue samples from the human body taken in 2016 and 2024. The results showed a significant increase in the concentration of plastic particles in the brain, liver and kidneys, which directly correlates with the global increase in plastic pollution.

8. Hockey players of the Turkmenistan national team defeated the Chinese Macau team in the first round match of the group stage at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin. The meeting ended with a score of 26:0. In the second round on February 6, the Turkmenistan team will play against the Indian team, and will complete the group stage on February 9 with a match against Chinese Hong Kong.
9. The Turkmenistan Football Federation Cup will be held in Ashgabat from February 14 to 23. 6 teams will take part in the tournament - “Arkadag”, “Ahal”, “Shagadam”, “Merv”, “Ashgabat”, “Nebitchi”. All matches will be hosted by the multifunctional stadium "Ashgabat". According to the regulations, the tournament will be held in a round-robin format, with the winner determined by the highest number of points scored.
