Turkmenistan won 33 medals at the WKF Central Asian Karate Championship

Turkmen karatekas demonstrated brilliant results at the 9th WKF Central Asian Karate Championship, held in Samarkand. In the competition, which brought together more than 800 athletes from six countries of the region, the Turkmenistan team won 33 medals of various denominations, reports “3B”.

Turkmen athletes managed to win 6 gold, 7 silver and 20 bronze medals in kata (formal exercise demonstrations) and kumite (fights) in various age categories.

Islam Annaorazov (kata among juniors 16-17 years old) and Magtymguly Annayev (kumite among juniors up to 55 kg) brought gold medals to the team.

The silver medalists were Selbi Rozibayeva (kumite, among women up to 68 kg), Resul Garatayev (kumite, among juniors up to 55 kg) and in the team kumite among men Arzuv Seyitgulyev, Shatlyk Allakov, Tachmuhammet Bekiyev, Guych Gokov, Shatlyk Kurbanov, Maksat Odayev and Shatlyk Tekyaev.

And the bronze medals were awarded to: Arzuv Seyitgulyev (kumite, among men up to 55 kg), Begli Pashiyev (kata, over 16 years old), Elshat Agabalayev (kata, over 16 years old), Garamammet Garamammedov (kumite, among juniors up to 61 kg), Gurbanmyrat Novruzov (Kumite, among juniors up to 68 kg), Anna Karimova (Kumite, among juniors up to 53 kg) and in the team Kumite among men Rasul Atajanov, Davut Nazmyradov, Maksat Dologeldiyev,

Bayry Bayryev, Dayanch Keletliyev, Jelal Satlykgulyev and Muhammetnur Annamuhammedov.

Under the leadership of coaches Aydyn Charyev and Igor Rahimov, Turkmen karatekas consisting of 74 athletes took an honorable third place in the team event, losing to the leaders from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
