1. A solemn event dedicated to honoring veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. During the Great Patriotic War, Turkmenistan became a refuge for evacuees from besieged cities, hospitals were established here, and formations of Turkmen soldiers like the 33rd separate mortar brigade and rifle divisions became famous for their heroism. More than 300 thousand Turkmen citizens took part in the hostilities, many of them were awarded the highest awards, including the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Glory. Home front workers also made a significant contribution, providing the front with everything necessary and donating more than seven tons of gold and silver jewelry for the construction of tanks and aircraft.

2. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution, permitting ministries, departments and the Ashgabat city administration to conclude contracts with local construction companies for the design and construction of modern apartment buildings in the capital's Parahat-7 residential complex. In total, it is planned to build 10 nine-story buildings, of which 4 have 36 apartments, 4 have 54 apartments, and 2 houses have 72 apartments. Improvement of the surrounding areas is also provided. Construction is due to begin in May 2024 and be completed in September 2026. By this time, new houses must be completely ready for occupancy.

3. During the visit of the Turkmen delegation of entrepreneurs to the Afghan province of Herat, 10 agreements and 2 memoranda of understanding were signed between Turkmen and Afghan private companies on cooperation in the supply of construction materials and food products. The signing ceremony of the documents took place with the participation of the head of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev and the acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Nuriddin Azizi.

4. The Organizing Committee of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka demonstrated the preliminary design of the national pavilion of Turkmenistan, which the Belli Economic Society is working on. According to the released images, the pavilion will be decorated in eco-style with national ornaments, light panels and images referencing the Great Silk Road. The theme of the pavilion is “Inspiring a Better Future”.

5. Turkmen jeweler Govher Nuryeva and designer Jennet Garlyeva presented their works at the second International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelry, held in the Uzbek city of Bukhara. Within the framework of the festival, various exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances, as well as a scientific and practical conference on the topic “Prospects for the development of traditional gold embroidery and jewelry art” are planned.

6. Elected in March 2024 to the post of head of state of the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin held an inauguration ceremony in the Kremlin. The event was attended by representatives of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government, as well as public figures and representatives of the clergy. After taking the oath of allegiance to the people of Russia, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin announced Putin’s assumption of the post of President.

7. Doner prices have soared in Germany, sparking outrage and calls for government intervention. The sharp rise in prices for this dish, in some cases up to 10 euros per serving, has caused discontent among both ordinary residents and politicians. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has repeatedly faced questions about doners during public appearances. In response, his government published an explanation on social networks that linked rising prices to rising wages and energy costs. On social networks, the rise in the price of doners has received the humorous name “Donerflation”.

8. The UN General Assembly proclaimed May 25 as World Football Day. The adoption of the resolution is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the first ever international football tournament, which took place as part of the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. The UN resolution calls on member states to develop national strategies and programs for the development of sport and physical activity, including football, at all levels.

9. “Borussia” defeated “Paris Saint-Germain” 1-0 in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final and reached the final of the tournament. The only goal was scored in the 50th minute by defender Mats Hummels. In the first match in Dortmund, “Borussia” also defeated PSG with a minimal score.
