More than 83 thousand people have been evacuated, about 1.16 million households are without power, schools are closed - these are the consequences of the rampant disaster in southern China. MIR 24 reports this.

Landslides occurred in the mountains, rivers overflowed their banks, flooding entire settlements. Rescuers had difficulty reaching the isolated village of Jiangwan in Guangdong province, where about 3.6 thousand people live.

The economic damage from flooding can be enormous. The affected province of Guangdong is one of the most populous and wealthy in the country, with a population of more than 127 million people.

The situation remains tense. Rescuers work around the clock, helping victims and evacuating people from dangerous areas.
