Jasmine Paris of Great Britain made history by becoming the first woman to finish the grueling 160km Barclay Ultramarathon. This is reported by daily.afisha.ru with reference to Edinburgh Live.

Of the 40 participants in 2024, only five were able to meet the 60-hour limit, and among them was Jasmine, who completed the distance in 59 hours 58 minutes 21 seconds.

The winner of 2024 was Igor Veris with a result of 58:44:59.

The 2012 record set by American Brett Maun (52:03:08) remains unbroken.

Paris demonstrated the fifth time. Before this, no woman had completed the entire Barkley distance, although four athletes (Susie Tibolt, Nancy Hamilton, Sue Johnston and Beverly Anderson-Ebbs) were able to complete 3 of the 5 segments on time.

Held in Tennessee, USA, the Barkley Ultramarathon is considered one of the toughest in the world. Overcoming 160 km of rugged terrain, participants annually challenge their capabilities. In the entire history of the race, only 20 athletes managed to finish on time.
