About the Institution
Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov is a university training specialists for the agricultural sector and textile industry of the country.
Since its foundation (1930), the University has trained tens of thousands of highly trained agronomists, veterinarians and zootechnicians, hydromelioration and agricultural mechanization engineers, economists, accountants, processing technologists, textile specialists and engineers.
Experienced professors and teachers creatively work with the main goal of training modern professionals in the departments of the university. There are Master Teachers of Turkmenistan, doctors and candidates of sciences, experienced professors, associate professors and senior teachers among them.
The training centers “John Deere” and “Caterpillar”(the United States of America) and “Claas”( the Federative Republic of Germany) function in the university, where students learn secrets of managing of modern and high-performance agricultural machinery.
Necessary conditions have been created in the University's experimental field for the joint scientific-research and experimental work of scientists, professors and students.
The Botanical Garden, the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Research and Production Center, and the Scientific and Production Experimental Center in Magtymguly District are in the structure of the university. In these centers, theoretical trainings and research work with students are widely integrated with production.
The University's Agroindustrial secondary vocational schools in Ashgabat, Mary and Lebap provinces, are training modern specialists with special secondary education for the agricultural and textile industries of the country.
There are computer classes, equipped with modern computer facilities, comfortable dormitories, a central canteen, a students’ bathroom, social service points, equipped indoor and outdoor sports grounds, large and small conference halls, a library includes scientific and fiction literature, a spacious reading room, an electronic reading room, historical and animal museums, and a health service room in the university.
At their free time, students actively participate in various sports competitions, creative competitions and artistic activities at the Altyn Asyr Cultural Center of the university.
