In its 39th annual global billionaire ranking, Forbes recorded a significant increase in the number of super-rich people. Despite global instability and geopolitical challenges, the number of billionaires in the world increased by 247 people, reaching 3 028 people, daily.afisha.ru reports.

Elon Musk still holds the leading position in the ranking with a capital of 342 billion dollars. The top five richest people also include Mark Zuckerberg (216 billion), Jeff Bezos (215 billion), Larry Ellison (192 billion) and Bernard Arnault (178 billion).

Women make up only 13% of the world’s billionaires. The wealthiest of them is Walmart heiress Alice Walton, who has $101 billion (15th place in the overall ranking). It is noteworthy that nine out of the ten richest women received their capital as an inheritance.

In terms of the number of billionaires, Russia ranks fifth in the world with 140 representatives. Ahead are the United States (902), China (450), India (205) and Germany (171).
