A pilot mode of operation of the Artyk and Lotfabad checkpoints on the Turkmen-Iranian border will be launched on January 15.

According to the new mode, the working hours of the checkpoints will be extended by one and a half hours, which is intended to increase the throughput capacity to 300 vehicles per day, according to the website of the Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The decision to do so was made following the third meeting of the heads of the Artyk (Turkmenistan) and Lotfabad (Iran) border crossings, which took place yesterday at the Artyk customs post.
