1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent deep condolences to Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in connection with the earthquake that occurred in the southwest of the country, which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries. The head of state, on behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and himself, expressed words of sympathy and support at this difficult moment to all the relatives and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
2. The keel of the first of two Turkmen dry cargo ships with a deadweight of 6,1 thousand tons was laid at the “Balkan” shipyard in the international seaport of Turkmenbashy. The construction of the dry cargo ships is carried out in partnership with South Korean Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology (KSIT). The keel-laying ceremony was attended by the heads of the “Balkan” shipyard and KSIT President Choi Yong-wook. In September 2023, “Balkan” and KSIT signed an agreement on the joint construction of two dry cargo ships with a deadweight of 6100 tons.
3. A delegation of six leading Dutch agro-industrial companies headed by East-West Trade visited Turkmenistan. The visit was organized with the aim of developing cooperation in the agro-industrial sector, exchanging advanced technologies and expanding partnerships.
4. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad. During the meeting, the prospects for bilateral financial and economic cooperation were discussed. The head of state noted the importance of expanding dialogue with international financial institutions and emphasized the high level of interaction with the Saudi Fund for Development.
5. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov accepted credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Ashgabat Stanislav Chepurny. During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the plenipotentiary representative of Belarus will do everything possible to strengthen and develop fruitful bilateral cooperation.
6. A new showcase dedicated to mushrooms has appeared in the exposition of the Department of Nature and Local History of the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. It displays dummies of cap mushrooms found throughout the country.

7. According to the latest data from China Central Television, the earthquake in Tibet has killed 95 people, and injured 130 more with varying degrees of severity. The earthquake with a magnitude of 6,8 was registered in the morning hours local time, with the epicenter at a depth of 10 kilometers. The main shock was followed by a series of 49 aftershocks. The underground vibrations were felt far beyond China - in neighboring Nepal, India, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
8. Heavy rains have hit the Muslim holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, turning city streets into raging torrents. The situation is so serious that the country's meteorological service has been forced to issue the highest, "red" weather alert.

9. Belarusian “Vitebsk” has announced the extension of its contract with Turkmenistan national team defender Vepa Jumayev. The agreement with the 24-year-old footballer will be valid until the winter of 2025. Vepa Jumayev moved to “Vitebsk” in February 2024 from “Energetik-BGU”. Last season, he spent 397 minutes on the field in the Belarusian championship and made one assist.
10. Football club "Surkhan", playing in the championship of Uzbekistan, will become the opponent of Turkmen "Ahal" at the training camp. The meeting will take place on February 2 in Türkiye, where the wards of Velsakhet Ovezov will hold winter training camp.
