2. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the New Year's performance at the Main Christmas Tree of the country, located in the Cultural and Entertainment Center "Älem". A colorful celebration with the participation of young Turkmen citizens unfolded on the square in front of the Center. A fairy-tale kingdom spread out around the Main Christmas Tree, 44 meters high. Children from different parts of Turkmenistan were invited to the celebration, including excellent students, winners of Olympiads, sports competitions and creative competitions. To the solemn melody, the President and the children headed to the Christmas tree. The main characters of the holiday - Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk, as well as the characters of the symbols of the year congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the younger generation.

The President of Turkmenistan visited the New Year's show in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the festive marathon continued with performances by children's groups, pop artists, theaters and circus. Ayaz Baba, Garpamyk, the symbol of 2025 - the Snake, as well as young Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital in carnival costumes gathered in a large hall decorated with bright decorations and New Year's attributes. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, along with members of the Government and diplomats, who also brought their children, watched the performances with pleasure.
4. “Turkmenistan” Airlines announced the cancellation of Ashgabat-Moscow-Ashgabat flights from December 30, 2024 to January 31, 2025. On December 30 and 31, the airline will organize repatriation flights from Moscow to Ashgabat via Istanbul.

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a telephone conversation with Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, proposed holding the Second Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and Russia in Avaza in May 2025. During a working visit to the city of Arkadag, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov got acquainted with the construction progress and held a meeting with the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of a “smart” city D. Orazov and the city mayor G. Mammedova. The meeting discussed the pace of construction, international cooperation and the quality of products of the medical cluster of the new city. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of ensuring a happy life for the population of the new city of Arkadag and creating conditions that meet modern requirements.

9. Former United States President Jimmy Carter has died at the age of 100. He passed away peacefully on December 29 at his home in Plains, Georgia, his son announced. Carter, who led the country from 1977 to 1981, was recognized in March 2019 as the longest-lived president in U.S. history. In 2002, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to democracy, human rights, and peacekeeping.

10. Midfielder of the football club "Ahal" Elman Tagayev was recognized as the best player of the championship of Turkmenistan at the end of the 2024 season. A special award ceremony was held in Ashgabat. In the 2024 season, 35-year-old Tagayev scored 15 goals. "Ahal" scored 67 points and won silver medals of the Premier League. Forward of "Arkadag" Didar Durdyev received the award as the best scorer of the championship of Turkmenistan. Durdyev has 31 goals. The best coach was Vladimir Bayramov, who heads "Arkadag". Under his leadership, the team won the championship and the Cup of Turkmenistan for the second time in a row, and also won the Super Cup of the country for the first time.
11. Young Turkmen athletes won five medals at the Central Asian Fencing Championship among children under 12 and 14 years old in Tashkent. They have two gold, one silver and two bronze medals in epee competitions.
