According to the latest data from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan as of September 1, 2024, the number of issued bank cards in Turkmenistan reached 5 823 690 units. During 2024, there has been a steady increase in the number of cards - by 261 757 units compared to January of this year, when 5 561 933 cards were registered.
State commercial bank “Daihanbank” with 2 051 458 cards.
State Commercial Bank “Turkmenistan” – 1 122 688 cards.
JSCBT “Halkbank” – 706 144 cards.
By region, the largest number of cards were issued in Ashgabat – 1 950 767 cards, which is a significant part of the total number. Among other regions, the leaders are Mary velayat (1 049 031 cards) and Lebap velayat (963 355 cards).
The number of bank cards in the country continues to grow every year. For comparison, at the beginning of 2020, their number was 3 941 320, and at the beginning of 2023 - already 5 177 006, which indicates a high dynamics of increasing popularity of non-cash payments and banking services in Turkmenistan.
