The world's largest image of the national emblem, created in the unique “ebru” technique, has appeared in Uzbekistan. The author of this large-scale work was Turkish artist Ahmed Coktan, who has already surprised the world with his creations in this style.
The previous record, also held by him, was set in 2009. At that time, the master created an ebru painting measuring 16,5 m². The new canvas with an area of 18 m² once again confirms his skill and originality. The achievement entered the Guinness World Records, uz.sputniknews.ru reported.
“Ebru” is the art of drawing on water and then transferring the image onto a hard surface. It is believed that this technique originated on the territory of modern Uzbekistan, but was most developed in Türkiye. The process of creating a painting using the ebru technique is truly fascinating: the artist applies special paints to water, creates patterns, and then skillfully transfers the resulting image onto a chosen base - be it paper, wood or other material.
